No, you have to take the vows before a person legally licensed or ordained to sign the marriage certificate. It is not legal until it is signed and returned to the county clerk's office and filed with the clerk.

Nope it is not official...It is not official till someone with the "power" to marry signs it...like a priest, judge, pastor, etc... if it's not signed by them and 2 witnessed it is not official...also it expires in a year, so don't hold on to it for so long if you plan on getting married...Congrats!!!

Nope, you then have to have a certified person perform the ceremony and have 2 witnesses sign it. Then, once it's returned to the clerks office or courthouse and filed, you are legally married.

ah, let me think! NO!
if you have a marriage certificate....then,YES! a marriage license is just requirement that a judge or a church need, for them to know that you can be legally married.

If you have signed the license, had it witnessed / notorized, and turned it into the local authority then you are married.

You are not married until you take your vows before a recognized agent of the state (judge, mayor, clergy person, etc).
