Balance the Federal Budget. No more robbing future generations to cover the shortfalls of the current one.

It would be a clarification of the establishment clause of the First Amendment. To make it very clear that any recognition of God or religion by any part of the government or anywhere on public property is illegal. I would also include in the amendment mandatory prison sentences starting at one year for anyone who violates this law.

I would like to remove even the semblance of religion from the preamble. America has come far ahead from the Christians who formed it.The growing religious chauvinism which received indirect encouragement and support from the compromising constittion should be stopped and this can be done only if we have a healthy secular constitution.

I would also like the American government at least symbolically broader. While othe countries had women at the topmost executive posts of the country America with all its flauting of Womens' liberation never had a woman as a president. In fact, we should make it a regular feature of our electroral process.

The Presidentship should also reflect more and more the changing face of America. We never had a Black as a president and the thought of a Muslim entering the White House is unthinkable in the present Terrorist atmosphere. But sooner or later we will have to make the constitution not only nominally liberal but actually so.

The constitution should be more oriented towards opening its doors for talents from out of America. Remember America has been built up entirely by immigrants. The natives are a minuscle minority and had no contrubution to its building. Of course this is not to blame them but historical factors were such that this role has been denied to them. This should be restored. Along with it the policy of encouraging immigrants should be adopted. The eagerness to close the doors for 'outsiders' will only stagnate the society.Let in whiffs of fresh air . (It is actually happening on ground and needs only formal constitutional sanction)

Any representative ( including the Congress, Senate or Executive branches) convicted of a crime would be ousted and a special election held in his or her state or district to immediately elect a replacement.

This amendment would make far more sense to me than term limits. An honest, hard working and moral representative is rare and too damned hard to replace - and deserves to be re-elected.

Crimes would include, but not be limited to, serious ethics violations as well as lobbyist bribery or special interest pandering as well as votes involving a direct conflict of interest.

I think the percentage of scandals on Capital Hill would be reduced significantly and the people's confidence in their representatives would be greatly improved.

A sunset law, that wipes any law off the books after three years unless renewed, and renewing can NOT be done in batches!!!
Get rid of all the garbage laws, and there are truckloads of them, off for good. Restore some freedom to this country.
Also, rather than the 'lawgivers' being exempted from the laws they put on our backs, have them be 10 times as much subject to them as anyone else.
And then take them off their special pensions and have them join social security.
Finally put this amendment beyond their reach to change. It would have to be approved by a public vote of more than 2/3 of eligible voters (not just those actually voting).

I would amend the 2nd amendment to more clearly specify what "arms"
means. I would rather not have nutcases carrying around nuclear weapons
claiming that the 2nd amendment gives them a right to.

I would add "sexual pursuasion" to the anti-discrimination language
of the 16th amendment.

It is inevitable that will eventually end up defining what a "person" is.
For instance, if we start having artificial intelligence, at what point does
it become constitutionally protected? This definition will clearly have
an effect on abortion legislation. It will also potentially have an effect
on cases where people are alive but brain dead, etc.

Right now the most pressing issue is marriage between 1 man and 1 woman. Enough of the courts making law.

Also, we would need an amendment to have the Fair Tax.

Sign me up for both.

Term limits on Senators and Representatives, so that we can stop having idiots like Robert Byrd be elected again and again and again, gaining so much seniority that he is able to move significant portions of the federal treasury to West Virginia.

No one should serve more than 12 years in the House (6 terms) or 18 years in the Senate (3 terms).

Change the presidents term to one five or six year term and not be allowed to be re-elected ever. Also vice presidents cannot run for president for the term following their vice presidential term.
These changes would keep the president and vice president from having to run for election or re-election while in office but it will give enough time to implement policy changes. Four years is too short a time.

Repeal the 16th and 17th Amendment, and Congressmen may neither submit nor vote on Bills whose length exceeds four typewritten pages.
