Are the cubes coming out extra large? it may be over filling & the inlet vave has failed. Some ice maker molds will flake off putting black specks in the ice that will cause water to leak out, there is a tube that comes in to the ice maker it can become dislocated & leak...to test turn the Ice maker off ..in 2 hrs turn back on & watch it (for the full cycle) aprox 7-8 min you will see whats going on.

It could be that the ice cup that initially accepts the water from the spout is clogged with ice. It so, the water will trickle out over the cup and pour down into the fridge. If you can check the cup with your finger, try and remove the entire unit (usually held in place just three screws. Then unplug the ice makef from the wire harness at the bottom. Examine the maker, and if it has ice in it, submerge it into hot water at the sink. Once the ice has melted, re-install and see if that fixes the problem. If not, check to see if the water valve located on the back of the frig near the ice-maker mounting is working properly. It is usually in a 7-second cycle and then the water stops flowing. If it doesn't, the water will continue to trickle down inside the freezer. God luck

mine did this.....the ice maker cycle is broken.....the arm that dumps the ice, when it goes around is opens the valve to allow the next stage of water to come in to make the new ice......if the cycle control is broken then it will allow too much water into the tray and it will over flow.......had mine replaced and no more problems..by the way mine was a Frigidaire from sears....

either the inlet hose is leaking or a seal has gone bad in the ice maker.

It's got a bad seal. I had one do this and had water everywhere. Be careful and cut it off or watch it closely.
