Charlye...Chantelle...Chelsea etc etc etc.

Charlotte is probably the only nice one I can think of.

I think you may be right there. Charlotte might not have that chav ring to it, but in my experience being called Charlotte is a sure fire guarantee that you're a conniving witch.

Chloe and Christina don't have that chav sound either, perhaps it's just names where the Ch is pronounced with a "sh" sound or like the ch in church

To the confused Americans: Chav in the UK is our word for 'white trash' you could have a point there on the Chelsea/Chantelle front, Charlotte is a really nice name though

I would agree most are chav names. I don't think Chloe is a very chav name though (I once dated a very hot goth girl called Chloe) but this is probably the exception that proves the rule.

yes i agree very chav i come from medway in kent thats where the world chav comes from its full of chelseas leighs traceys donnas etc all driving round in a ford escorts and running off with your bloke and as much gold as mr t

No My Little girl starts with a ch and she is not no chav she is a lovely little girl with great future ahead of her so there goes your theory

I have a cousin named Christina, and she is pre-law at Stanford. Definitely not chav.

Yeah good point. Charlie (tom-boyish name for a girl) is quite nice too though.
