John Kerry is about as bad as it gets. His photograph with Viet Cong leaders is displayed in the Vietnam Heritage (War) Museum, and they called him a hero for helping them win the war against America.

No. That was taboo.
Besides, Kerry was OUT of the military when he headed Vietnam Vets against the war. The times were very different. The mood of the country was quite ugly and he had a lots of support. The country was quite divided, the young against the old. Following this I remember candle light ceremonies in parks all across the country...everyone feared the draft call, everyone. College was no safety net and that is when the noise got louder and the students went wild. There were other issues going on as well with civil rights et. al., and that was even uglier. They truly were terrible times and I hope you never see the likes of those days ever again.

Are you serious? No politicain has ever slammed his own countrymen? i don't need a historian 'if you let the democrats win, the terrorists have won' 'liberals are terrorists' and the list of RECENT bashings goes on. As far as history, 'a man who chooses security over freedom deserves neither' 'ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country' and many other presidents and politicains during times of war have slammed their opposition. Man, I can't believe this was a serious question!

Gee Gads have you ever picked up a history book? Recent examples; After the 2004 election leading Christian Evangelicals, many of them politicians, bashed non-Christian Americans proclaiming them to Un-American for not accepting Christ as their personal savior, repeatedly BUSH calls anyone who disagrees with him a traitor, Politicians slam their fellow Americans all the time, you are just so enamoured of BUSH and so desire to lick poop from his tailpipe that any effront is viewed as a great treachery.
You want Historic examples; Spiro Agnew bashing Liberals - that 'nattering nabobs of negativity speech. FDR's speeches castigating Isolationists, Woodrow WIlson's speeches regarding the 'Wobblies,' the IWW, and other 'Bolshevik' elements critizing his policies. The Populist Movement of the 1870's into 90's was rife with Politicians denouncing huge swatches of The American Population.
Peace...

Shall we talk about all the people condemning those against the war in Iraq as traitors? Cheney has made some awful comments about people.
But, the difference is that Kerry has apologized. The current cabal does not admit mistakes or apologize. Hence, Kerry deserves far more respect that Bush and Co.

"I have here in my hand a list of two hundred and five people that were known to the Secretary of State as being members of the Communist Party and who nevertheless are still working and shaping the policy of the State Department."
Joseph R. McCarthy
Joseph McCarthy did some devestating damage to the honor and reputations of his own countrymen (he even dipped into smearing those in the armed services) that went far beyond fellow politicians.

When you spend as much time talking into a mike as today's politicians do, you are going to make mistakes. Have you ever had your own words used against you and a meaning pulled out that was NOT what you intended to say? He mis-spoke get over it.

I've never seen evidence of American politicians and former presidents being such subversive defeatists, particularly during a time of war.
They even travel to other countries to disparage Bush and America.
This is treason, in my estimation.

each soldier has the main remarkable to refuse any unlawful or illegitimate order given by skill of an excellent as pronounced by skill of the UCMJ. this is in spite of the undeniable fact that, your accountability to checklist such action or to even take action in comparison style of individual. in spite of everything, a squaddies priorities are God, family members, u . s ., accountability. yet off the checklist, in a time of war, I in all probability does no longer be the 1st, or the final to "by probability friendly hearth" the guy in question.

You must not know what Kerry said... he told a group of college students that they should stay in school or they might get stuck in Iraq.
Once the draft is brought back, you will see how true that statement is.
