December is not the time to visit beaches or islands, for that matter. But it's a great time to enjoy the cities.

In Greece you'll want to visit Athens and Thessaloniki, the two largest cities.

In Italy, Rome has so much to offer, you don't really have to go anywhere else.

In Greece go to Athens and see the Acropolis and don't hang around there 'cause it's old. But the Greek islands are awsome. Santorini for romance or Mykinos for the party island.

in italy, visit rome, naples, florence and venice for sure. If you have time, milan and bologna are good too. Then you have sicily also. Depends on how much time you have in italy. visit italytourism.com for more details
