How do I attach a pickguard to a guitar with no hole for it???

I have a guitar that does not have a pickguard and I really want to get one on it, but how do I do that if my guitar has no holes for it? I really need help and it would be VERRY appreciated!!!!!!!

2 solutions, 1) find the pick guard you want, dril the holes you nee, of if you don't want anything so permanant, try double sided tape, either way watch out for the finish, you might need to re-varnish later. if drilling. drill through tape, this'll protect the varnish
