this is yet another instance, after Cuba imbroglio, of a people's mute resistence to its government's policy. Mexican immegration is in fact proving beneficial to the country what with the availability of cheap labour. The fears of this affecting American emploment adversely has not proved. A similar hullaballo had earlier been raised during the last election against outsourcing. American employment is at its best at present. There is evidence to show that a common American welcomes Mexian immigration. It only underlines USA as a land of opportunities.Industilists look the other way as it provided the much needed labour force. Even many a senator has covertly or overtly back the immigration. Had the objection toimmigration been serious things could not have come to such a pass where theire is growing demand.for a more wide berth for the Spanish language in USA including claims to have a parallel Spanish national anthem. For appearances' sake people may back measures like fencing but nobody is willing to spend for it.

There has never been so wide a chasm between the percepion of things by the government and the people as in Cuba and now Mexico. However, there is hope as the silent majority is catching up.It did triumph earlier in Vietnam and is not catching up in Iraq. There is hope for America

You make your $5 contribution and I will make mine but I don't think we have a snowballs chance it hell of getting the American people to fund this. If the American people really cared they would be camping out in DC to get our elected officials to do what is right about illegal immigration. You can tell by a law that has no funding that our elected officials do not care about this issue. We can fund a war no body wants but we can't fund something to help our own country. But, I am on my soapbox now and that does none of us any good.

Another source of funding: Put a bounty on illegals with the proceeds donated to building the fence... Kill 2 birds with1 stone.

Why not us Americans fund Education so that we can ask a question properly? Then we can worry about our borders.

It is very possible, imagine the billions we will be saving to educate, feed and house the illegals...Not to mention their medical costs that we the people have to pay through our taxes...It is bullsh*t....

why would we spend money keeping people out that are helping our economy and making life easy for the rest of us?

dont tell me you are one of those ignorant "anti-immigrant" americans who thinks these people are taking jobs from us...

why dont you worry about something important, like getting our able bodied and healthy future leaders back from a pointless war that can be fought with technology anyway?

sure the war is bringing in money, but its also killing off good people and wasting more money than it profits.

You want to know what i think, George Bush just isnt gonna put it up because hes a cheep man. You want to know why???Its because illegal aliens are entering our country, and that means they are "illegally" going to get jobs, with the government not caring one bit about it. And guess where the money that they make goes to, hmmmmm. Bush himself
