This should make liberals completely happy. He was in charge of a major church in the USA, wrote a couple of books on Christian living, spoke out against Gay marriages, homosexual lifestyle, abortion (All things held close by Liberals), and here he is and Icon on Christian American, Outed!
That would be equal to PPFA President or Chairperson becoming a born again Christian and denouncing their line of work.

As a registered Republican for the last 27 years I do not qualify as a liberal, no matter what radical fundamentalist may claim.
As far as Rev Haggerd, anyone who is happy about the situation is being small and petty. I do find a certain amount of ironic amusement watching people who rail against behavior in public be exposed as participating in that behavior in private.

I'm not a Liberal, but I will answer this anyway. I don't know if you have ever been to a southern Baptist church, but usually they have the "Amen pew" right up at the front, where the holiest of the holy sit. And usually these are the people who are the crookedest, most un-Christian people you will find. Anyone who professes what a good Christian they are, by the Bible's definition, are NOT good Christian. Usually the louder you shout how much you hate something or someone, it is because you actually feel/act the opposite.

No. After being involved in a sex scandal, Ted Haggard no longer works as a pastor. Wikipedia lists him as a "former evangelical preacher."

I enjoy watching the word of God come to fruition.
For a start "That which is done is secret will be brought into the light" Or how about the proverbial "Be sure that your sins will find you out"
And the Famous farming verse "You reap what you sow" is the key to all activity good or evil.

Not that happy. Ashamed is more like it. Disgusted.
One by one they all fall down. Too bad, so sad. NOT. Could it be Divine Intervention? Hmmmm. Food for thought.

No - it's sad to see a man and his family suffer, and to see him make bad choices. I wish he could have found a more loving, honest, and healthy way to live out his sexual orientation. He is responsible for the situation though.

I'm never happy when a family gets drug through the media mud because of one person's actions. He disappointed a lot of people and I feel sorry for them for how they probably feel now having put their faith in him.
I am intrigued now though as to how the conservative and religious institutions will react and respond givin their moral "high ground."
My guess, another "not one of our's" or "he was an alcoholic" or "he was molested as a child."

I'm not a liberal. For me and I would think a great majority of conservatives, his problems are personal to him.
The liberals are mistaken in the way we form our opinions.

I only wish he didn't have a wife and children, so that I wouldn't feel guilty taking pleasure in the flood of his hypocrisy.
