If Roddick continues to play the way he does on Hard surface, he has a really good chance of defeating Nadal. You know, i would really like to see Nadal and Blake face off. Blake has beaten Nadal every single time on Hard surfaces. It should be interesting. Can't wait.

Considering that, if players could choose their opponents, Federer would be Nadal's first choice of opponent and everyone else's last choice, a Roddick-Nadal matchup in the round robin might well depend on how the outcome flips the pairings for the semifinals. If they meet first round, I'd give Roddick a slight edge due to Nadal's being off form. If they meet in the semis, I'd give Nadal the edge because Roddick probably will be less eager to win and play Federer. If they meet in the final, how did they both get there?

It is very possible they may end up in the same group and have to play round-robin.
Based on surface and style of play..Roddick should win. Nadal has trouble with hard hitting players. Roddick will have to hit very consistant backhands throughout match. This may go to 3 sets.
Based on location..Nadal. Roddick has a horrible record outside the US!

Probably Nadal although he is injured the case is the same with Roddick hurting his ankle in Madrid. Their H2H is 1-1 so who knows? But Roddick's win came on a hard court 1t the 2004 US Open 6-0 6-3 6-4 so I'll probably give him the edge.

I read through the answers some of the people gave & I have a few things to say.

Roddick is my favorite player and I would love nothing more for him to beat Nadal, but right now I don't know if he is able to.

As for Nadal being the best player in the world, no chance. You are entitled to your own opinion but his records can't stand against Federer (I'm talking about CURRENT best). I will admit he is the best known clay court player in the world. I personally dislike Nadal but I will give him that much.

Its kind of a difficult choice because Roddick has been playing good and the best surfece for him is hard court so if the MAsters is in hard court theres more advantage for him because Nadal is not the best on hard court but in clay surface.

based on the surface: roddick (hard courts are roddick's turf)

based on form: roddick (the US Open Final says it all)

based on playing styles: nadal (nadal is one f the best passers in the game, roddick's serve and volley and bg serving just might nt work on him)
