A period doesn't mean she isn't pregnant, some women have a period the first couple of months while pregnant, I did with my daughter, so the only way to know for sure is to get a test, but even then it could take a few weeks to show. If she ovulated in the middle of her cycle, and shes regular, then you should be ok, but it still isn't a guarentee.

A women ovulates about 14 days before her period. She will be fertile for about 3 days after that. Since sperm can live in the body for about 5 days, she would also be considered fertile for the 5 days before she ovulates. If she has a very short cycle, she could be considered fertile before and during her period. There is also the chance that the egg had not embedded its self into the uterine lining yet, causing her to start her period even though she is pregnant. Every women's cycle is different. She should see her Dr, and you should ALWAYS use protection.

what your talking about does happen, but extremely rarely. I'm talking maybe 1% chance. If her period was normal, her normal flow, normal amounts of tampons or pads and it lasts the usual number of days, then the chances of her being pregnant are very very slim. Also, since you had sex on wednesday, and she expected her period almost right after, it was probably too late in the game for her to get pregnant anyway, most women ovulate about midway through their cycles (so she is most likely to get pregnant two weeks after her period) That's not to say she can't get pregnant any other time of the month, or even during her period. As for this time... sounds like you are safe.. if she is still concerned she should be able to take a home pregnancy test in another week or so... my guess is it will be negative.

i work in a clinic and i her stuff like that all of the time. Yes sperm can live in a womens body for up to 7 days after sex. The sperm can still reach the fallopian tubes and fertilize the egg. So yes she is going to have to wait until her next period to really know for sure. It's too early to tell now. Good Luck!

Typically women ovulate 2 weeks after their last peiod or 2 weeks prior to the next period (in the middle), so the chances are slim for her to be pregnant if the sex was right before her period.
