will having sex when ur on ur 9th month of pregnancy help enduce the labor? and can it hurt the baby?

Yes it is okay to have sex in your nineth month, as long as your pregnancy has been normal thus far and your doctor has not given you any restrictions. (if you don't know, than she hasnt). As far as starting labor.. the chances are not high. The contractions you feel because of orgasim are not strong enough to deliever a baby... however there are some chemicals in semen that can make your body believe it is time. However, your body won't let you go into real labor unless you are ready for it... meaning if sex actually makes you go into labor, you were probably about to go into labor anyway. So.. all in all.. if your cervix is dilated, the baby has dropped, and or your doctor has determined other impending signs of labor... you may very well start the process off (or at least have fun trying)

When I was having my second baby, as my due date approached I felt like I would be late. I had an OB visit the day I was due and they told me that having intercourse may help speed up the process. I was willing to try anything because I just wanted my baby and didn't want to feel HUGE anymore! Not sure if it was that or coincidence, but sure enough that night, I went into labor.

Yes it is very good for starting labor and contractions, and no, it wont hurt your baby. your baby is well surrounded in your uterus and protected. I had sex in my 8th month aall the way up until 41 weeks when I went into labor, walking and sex helped me a lot..Good Luck!!

With my last baby ( I have 3, ages 8, 4, and 2) my husband and I ''got busy'' around 1:30am-ish, we were done in minutes!!! LMAO!! I feel asleep right away like my husband always does ( LOL), and woke back up at 2am, and said ''Self, am I in labor?!!'' I had my son by 5:15am that same morning!!

I've heard it can help bring on labor. Don't think it hurts the baby.

Yes it will help induce labor and no it won't hurt hte baby....the baby is very cushioned and protected AND is alot farther than your hubby or bf can reach...

I heard that if could induce you and that if you do have sex that he shouldnt be on top, not good for baby. have fun, if it doesnt work, walking alot is excellent and wont hurt baby

It's possible. It can't hurt the baby, but will likely be uncomfortable for you, unless your tummy is small.

I am not a doctor...so, won't comment on consequences of having sex that late in pregnancy. However, I can't help but wonder how desperate a man should be to have sex with a woman nine months pregnant.
