Let's see... illegal wiretaps, no due process or habeas corpus, torture, martial law, tax cuts for the rich, out of control spending, uneccesary war...

Uh, yeah. The neocon agenda scares me pretty f*cking bad.

The obvious question to your question is, "What makes you think liberals are trying to silence conservatives?"

It seems that liberals are the ones at risk of being silenced. They are the ones that are now threatened with treason for speaking against the decisions of the reigning powers. The media (which God only knows is the most liberal of all institutions) is currently being censored. They cannot show any skirmish in Iraq (or elsewhere when the US is involved). They cannot show the coffins of our soldiers. They must watch carefully what they say, lest they be labeled unpatriotic.

In my opinion, it is unpatriotic to stand by and let the citizens of our "free" country be suppressed. Where would we be without revolutionaries? Our very genesis as a country is based on revolution and wanting a say and not letting the "reigning powers" control our actions, our words, or our thoughts.

So, you tell me: how are the liberals trying to silence the conservatives?

liberals try to silence conservatives because they are scared of the populace waking up to the fraud they are.

ever notice how when you're debating a liberal and you back them into a corner with facts, they do one of three things.

1. say the word "strawman" and keep repeating it.

2. get angry and call you names and hurl personal insults.

3. sidestep the argument and start with a completely off topic debate.

what do these three things have in common?? they are all an attempt to shut you up. why else do you think they've been going nuts since fox news aired?? all in all, liberals want to be the only ones with a voice. the fact that they aren't is what angers them.

that's why polictical correctness exists. to silence all opposition to the left and control what people can and cannot say, or even think.

The distorted conservative agenda is frightening.
Liberals are not trying to silence conservatives at all. Let them speak all they want, shout it for all I care. The more they say, only gives us leverage. They are damaging themselves more than someone pointing a random finger in their direction.

They wish to silence dissent and suppress the truth.

The conservative agenda demands adherence to a basic code of moral conduct and personal accountability. Libs are very much afraid of being held responsible for their actions.

Liberals aren't really trying to silence conservatives. It's just that the conservative view of the world is so far off base from reality that it's kinda like telling someone in politics it's neither the time nor place if they started reciting a fairytale.

Scare me? Yes, sort of like the guy drooling and mumbling on the bus scares me. But both he and conservatives have a right to speak and I honor that.
