That depends on what car, but most are held on with one or more bolts. I'm concerned though because if you don't know how to remove it do you know how to time the camshaft to the crank so the valves don't smash the pistons when you start it? Be safe and get a factory manual for the car, study the procedure, and save your engine.

It depends on the car.
Some are pressed on and some are bolted on.
If youres is pressed on you will have to remover the cam and have a mechanian shop press it off.
