I am considering installing these to replace some older sliders. They look interesting but I am concerned about ease of use and if they are drafty. The key thing is energy efficiency and keeping my daughter's room warm at night.

I bought my 1929, two story with attic house in October of 1993. By December of 1995 I had new tilt in windows installed because of the drafts in the old ones AND because I couldn't get up a ladder with storm windows. The windows had not been cleaned outside in forever. I love the new ones. They tilt in and are so easy to clean. I had full screens put in instead of the half screens. If a screen comes out, it is rather difficult to put back in but if you devise a handle on opposite corners, this job is much easier. Just make sure that they fit and that you caulk around them, both inside and out. My woodwork is dark and my only options were white or beige. I chose white and they look in fine. Doing it yourself is a much more economical way to go. I know the drafts diminished greatly after my window were replaced.
