even after those "tax cuts for the rich", the people classified as rich pay a much larger percentage of their earnings than the "unfortunates"(poor) and middle class.
I posted something on this a while ago, i believe the rich pay around 33 percent earnings where the middle class pay average of 22-27 percent, and the "less fortunates" pay 5-10 percent. (these numbers are off memory, but I'm sure they are close)
That is AFTER those tax cuts.

Nope, sorry. If you make $100,000/year, then you are not even close to being called "wealthy" by either party. You are not getting much of a tax break from the current Admin., despite what the R.'s tell you. And the Dems. are NOT going to raise your taxes, again despite what the R.'s tell you.
The TAX CUTS FOR THE WEALTHY rhetoric is purely about the upper 4% to 1% (60% of the tax breaks go to the top 1%) ... the people making 8 or 9 figures ... the CEOs, the oilmen.

I am a Democrat. I do not consider a person rich if they make $100,000 a year. I do not want to raise taxes on these people. If you are a Republican and you think the Republican party is working in the best interest of the American small business owner, you are seriously mistaken.

Who said anything about raising taxes? You don't get it, you pay most of the taxes anyway! The tax cuts went to the top 4% primarily and those people are making 1/2 billion or so a year, or at least 1 million!!
Do you lump yourself in with them! I don't!
Bush gave them tax cuts to do something David Stckman and Reagan proved could not be done! Trickle-down Economics is pure BS and Bush did it twice! His Savior has been the war!
1/2 of the taxes paid goes for the interest on the debt and the military!
Do you think we can go on forever giving tax cuts to rich people while we run up massive debts! Bush doesn't care, he doesn't have to pay them!
And at the same time he is cutting taxes for the wealthy, he is cutting Iraqi widows benefits, VA benefits and programs for the elderly, children and disabled! They either get cut or your state raises taxes!
I think you misunderstand! And don't you see something a little wrong with that picture?
Nicolas!! The average salary in the US is about $44,000 a year and they pay almost 1/2 of their salary in income, state, Soc security and sales tax!
Please show me 1 person earning over 1`/4 million a year who pays 1/2 of their income in taxes! JUST ONE!!!

Trust me when I say, this Democrat hardly thinks you are wealthy. However, people in my tax bracket, can more easily afford taxes, than people who make a mere 100,000 a year. Not those folks in the middle class bracket, such as plumbers, small town lawyers, etc.So, without becoming too rude, the Democrats are speaking of the wealthy, not the wanna be's, and are once again, on the right track. Have a great day, the Democratic way !!!!!

why are Republicans so out of touch with America?
the median HOUSEHOLD income for the U.S. is around $45,000... that's HOUSEHOLD, usually two incomes... so that's 50 percent of the population that are at or below that...
then ONLY 20 percent of the population have a HOUSEHOLD income of over $80,000, that's usually two incomes...
so, most people would consider a person wealthy, if they earn in the top 10-15 percent of the nation...
which according to thsese stats, a person that makes $100,000 a year on his own (not even in household income, according to you)... would be WEALTHY...
it's great that the person own's their own business... but that person is wealthy...
these statistics are from the census... available as www.census.gov... there are many reports that detail these issues...
the simple fact is... most educated people... most people in general... don't make that much... more than 15 percent of the U.S. is educated and has training and experience... but less than 15 pecent make 100,000 a year...

$100.,000.00 is certainly well above the median income in the US. Republican or Democrat. I wish the politicians would realize this. I don't make that much, but it seems as though I pay a higher percentage. Most people with lower incomes don't have as much to write off. I wish we would go to a flat tax rate allowing no deductions so every one would pay their share and have no basis to complain.

Why do militant fundamentalists consider people who make $5.15/hr as rich?
I figured since yours was a silly and false rhetorical question I would respond with an equally silly question.
As an aside, your figure of $100,000 is 100% wrong. Taxes are based on PROFIT as someone who allegedly runs a business should know. You are not taxed on GROSS but on NET.

I think maybe asking this question with a little small mindedness. Who is to say that a Republican would'nt say the same thing about you if you're making that much? Personally, I'm a democrat but I would not consider $100,000 rich

The middle class income range in the United States is statistically (as in the middle average) $35,000-$52,000. Compared to that, $100,000 actually sounds...wealthy.
