Unsolved Mysteries......
1) Because there's a great deal that, even as intelligent beings, we do not understand about our own world and universe.
2) The "Powers that be" (and you define that anyway you like) only disseminate information on what they feel is a "need to know" basis. In general they (The Powers that be) feel that the public at large doesn't need to know about what is slowly amounting to a great deal of information.
3) Because the control of information controls the population (Look! I'm a poet and didn't know it!)...All kidding aside, a perfect example is the advertising industry. Occult symbolism can be seen everywhere, everyday and is used by major advertisers to literally BURN their products into the minds of potential customers (you & me)...From the colors they use to the symbols on the prducts themselves...It's the darkest form of magick there is; bending anothers free will to your own..
Example? sure. Look at a Pepsi can and tell me what you see. It's a friggin' patriotic yin-yang. The hidden message is "Patriotic, balanced Americans drink our product, you should too."
Now that you know this, the question of at least some unsolved mystries should resolve itself.
Peace!

Unsolved mysteries? They are not really mysteries at all, its just that at certain era's in our history some things, be it due to religion(any), leadership, prejudiced,or even ignorance things where not recorded as it really was.
Even the scurvy Pirate lore wasn't recorded properly, when the most feared and successful Pirate of all time was a woman, Cheng I Sao, and Laurens de Graff, seems to have every bit as great a Pirate as Morgan or Roberts and more so than Teach aka Blackbeard and Kidd........but who has ever really heard of these Pirate? Could it have been the focus was on America's Pirates? or because one a Chinese woman and the other a Mulatto?
Besty Ross was likely a African-American.........I learned about her making the US flag in the fifth-grade......but don't recall being told she was?
Its the same with Ghost and Goblins,Vampires and the such!
Plus now we have Movies to dramatize.
and God made of thinkers........and we still have a very large portion of our brains that is virtually unexplored?

There will always be "unsolved mysteries", in plain words, 'things that the general public don't know about' because they where either kept quiet about, or nobody at the time thought they were worth recording. It's just that the media know that they make intriguing reading and play on them to sell their material.

people think that they can find the obvious and fix it
if people could explain why peole act like they do they'd know who done it and be able to prove everything thats happened in the world up till then and we'd know if they were to blame or if it helped everybody

because history was written by the winners and the losers very seldom had a chance to tell their side of the story.
