Freedom-what does it mean?

I have to do an essay for school on what freedom is/means, i need some oppions on what you think it means, and anyother information about it, quotes, anything like that

Freedom is the abilty to get to chose what it is you want and do it. But it also means not stepping on others just because you can. You should watch Braveheart, it's a very good example of what freedom is.

The political correct crowd wants to take freedom of religion,freedom to own guns,freedom of speech,freedom of assembly,etc. The freedoms we have now are either being stripped or now being called privileges.
Illegal wiretaps and holding of prisoners
abortion is not mentioned in the constitution(not a right,another supreme court ruling)
The bible and prayer was allowed in taught in schools until Madeline O'Hara (by a ruling of the Supreme Court, not a law,removed that right.
