I've never personally met him.
I think his work is worthy of being a modern classic based on the response of the public, but I have not read any of his standard books. A+ for Mr. King.
I have seen many movies based on his books, and several for which he was the screenwriter.
Also, I have read the Dark Tower Series of his books - which I note seperately because his style of these books is different from his other works.

"Good ideas, bad writing style.
Disappointing, really. :("
I wonder how many books Kermit has written??
Stephen King is a great writer. He doesn't sentimentalize, preach, debate, or anything else. He's not trying to be a literary genius or a pretentious buffoon. He just writes stories...and damn good ones too. I mean, does that guy's imagination have limits? I've read tons of books by hundreds of authors, and always come back to a Stephen King book. I always know it's going to be a good read.

As a write I think he has an appeal to people with a flair for the macabre. Those crazy twists and turns keep readers very interested, just wondering what will come next. He must be excellent, since he has made millions from something he loves doing. As an individual, lets just say, he is extremely eccentric.

I think it's a good thing he writes that stuff down or he'd never get to sleep at night! That dude writes some scarey stuff. The best one I've ever read though, is Hearts in Atlantis. I think I've read it 6 times and STILL keep finding something new in it!

Great and twisted author, the movies based on the books don't always follow true to their word though, so read the book!
