sociology is a type of social science.

It's the study of people and how they interact with their surroundings. It's basically the study of different cultures.

the sociology is differing from other sciences because it is studying and exploring the society, the social behavior of the society. the term of sociology is a mixture of Latin and Greek term: 'socio' and 'logos' - science for the people. the sociology is narrow connected with the demography, statistics, cultural and political factors. the sociology like science is more near to the psychology, demography, marketing and statistics. the sociology is using statistical data for the deviant behavior of criminals, make sociological research about the public opinion.

It has absolutely no validity in any science hall I have ever been in and I have been in a few. I hear scientist say all the time, " I have given up on psychology ", but when sociology is mentioned; laughter,snorts of derision and peculiar looks, as if bring up the subject" tars" you with the subject. All social science is suspect, though.
