Hello,

I recently purchased the new Need for Speed: Carbon. After installing the game I began playing it, but the cars were only displayed in black, even when the colour was changed, and no detail on the cars were shown. I believe it may have something to do with my graphic driver, although it is compatible with Need for Speed. My graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 32M/64M. Your help would be greatly appreciated,

Lambros.

I have seen this many times on here, here is the problem. When it says compatible, it means that is the bare minimum it will take for the game to actually load up on the screen, they don't tell you that it means you will have to set it on the lowest settings and still have poor performance. You definately need a new video card to play that game.

But the problem is even worse sense I am assuming you have a laptop. Laptops are not good for gaming, you have to spend big money to get one that will game well, and even then it will be outdated in a few years with little room to upgrade.

Maybe the settings have been changed to 16-bit color, that can mess things up. Your graphics card isn't archaic, it's close, but at worst it should be extremely laggy, you shouldn't be having this color issue.
Check the game settings, and check your display settings under the control panel.
