I'm really sorry about that. This has also happened to me, but with other sports. My suggestion is to find something else that you love doing in your spare time that you would've been playing basketball during and that will help you forget about it, but still do something that you love. And then, next year, when the time comes around again, just practice!!!

I would practice really hard all year round. I would just say, well that team doesn't deserve me playing this year. If your friends are always talking about it, tell them to zip it. I would try to get on the court and play whenever the coach is there, so he can see what he's missing! Remember who was one of the greatest- Micheal Jordan- didn't make his high school team!

Practice practice practice. Just because you didn't make the team, keep playing. Find a church team somewhere to get court time. Stay involved with your school team too. Keep stats or whatever. Keep your face known.
Keep in mind.......Michael Jordan was the greatest player to ever lace them up..................and he was cut from his High School team his freshman year. Keep the faith and good luck.

use this time while not being on the team to get better. find what your weaknesses are and really work on them. you have a chance to get better than your friends because they will take their spot on the team for granted. don't forget about it, keep remembering how upset you are right now so that you stay motivated and keep working. good luck!!

I tried out in the 5th grade twice and didnt make it.But then i tried out again in 6th,and made it! So dont give up on hope! If you want to make the team, then do it! You can do anything if you set your mind to it!

If your school is like most schools, sports are very political. You have to come to terms with this fact and accept it. My suggestion is to turn this situation into a positive situation. Let this be a motivation for you to work extremely hard over the offseason to improve your game. Also, before your tryouts next year, you have to be recongnized by the coach. By this I mean, let him notice you by showing up early, staying late, and if you have to even introduce yourself to him so he gets to know you.

MAN, THAT'S SAD. WELL, GET TO WORK. WORK REALLY HARD TO WHERE THAT DOES NOT HAPPEN TO YOU AGAIN. TO GET OVER IT, PLAY AAU OR IN A LEAGUE IN YOUR COMMUNITY. IN ORDER TO MAKE THE TEAM NEXT YEAR, WORK ON YOUR WEAKNESSES AND MAKE THEM YOUR STRENGTHS. IF IT IS BALLHANDLING, DRIBBLE TENNIS BALLS. IF IT IS CONDITIONING, RUN LOTS. IF IT IS STRENGTH, DO PUSH UPS AND SUCH. TRY WORKING ON ALL ASPECTS OF YOUR GAME, THAT WAY, IN THE CLUTCH, YOU CAN GO TO ANYTHING YOU NEED, BECAUSE YOU WORKED HARD ON IT AND YOU SHOULD BE COMFORTABLE WITH IT. I HOPE YOU MAKE THE SQUAD NEXT YEAR & GOOD LUCK. GOD BLESS YOU.
ALSO NEXT YEAR, JUST HUSTLE, AND PLAY HARD, AND DO THINGS THAT THE OTHER GIRLS DON'T WANNA DO.

I would use that to even push me further, like when someone puts me down or tells you YOU CAN'T DO IT, it just pushes me further and makes me even better.
