I'd say he's probably sorry he got caught. But, then again - the accused man that he was paying to have sex with didn't pass the lie detector so who know's - maybe Ted Haggard's telling the truth. There's only 2 people that know for sure and that would be GOD AND TED HAGGARD himself.

I didn't get to hear the whole story - what I did hear sadden me. I wondered though, why did he buy it? Is he addicted? I believe he's sorry he got caught. Just like Jimmy Swaggart - Jimmy Baker - Jerry Falwell. Of course no one is perfect - but don't put yourself out there as a self-proclaimed man of God. Chances are - you will get caught.

In my opinion, he is sorry that he got caught. I do not criticize
the action as much as I criticize the hypocrisy. Maybe we all should strive to do the best we can without going about moralizing and preaching to others. If we want to convert or change somebody , let us start with our self. We should remember that we are human and we are all subject to all types
of temptations.

I agree with the poster above - it's not being gay that is bad - it's criticizing gays, criticiging prostitutes, criticizing drug addicts and then yourself using all that that is bad.
Besides, statistically about 10% of the population is gay, so there are probably around 4 million gays "evangelicals" even if they are too scared to realize it/come out.
