Whenever I get my periods, I gain weight like 1 or 2 pounds and my stomach feels big. Is this normal? I am not on birth control pills.

Absolutely normal. It's bloating and fluid retention. There's not much you can do about it, but try not to eat foods that you know will make you gassy and drink lots and lots of water. This will help to keep it down to a minimum. Also, stay away from the junk food during this time. I know...I know... you want it ...you need it...but can you live with the consequences of more bloating? It's up to you on that note. Welcome to the wonderful world of womanhood!

Most girls experience bloating when on their periods, so this could be the cause of an extra pound or two and for the feeling that your stomach is bigger than normal. Just try to drink lots of water to keep your urinary tract going and eat healthy.

It's quite normal. If you ever watch the commercials for Midol or other pink-boxed period remedies, this is what they refer to as "bloating". You tend to retain water in the premenstrual and menstrual phases, hence the weight gain.

It's normal. You're bloated. It's the water weight and the blood filling you up.
