I've opened disputes with no progress. Sellers always want me to ship the item back & expect me to foot the bill. Then only offer a partial refund, not including shipping & handling. In many cases this is worth more than the products worth. Then i have to trust that they'll actually refund me upon recieving the product. I'm not down for this double jeopardy.

I'VE BOUGHT HARD DRIVES, DIGITAL CAMERAS, RAM MEMORY & OTHER ITEMS FROM EBAY... EVERY TIME I SPEND MORE THAN $20.00 THE ITEM IS D.O.A. I'M TIRED OF BEING RIPPED OFF. I AM UNWILLING TO GAMBLE WITH MY MONEY & THE ADDS ALWAYS SEEM SO PROMISING... IT SEEMS THOUGH THAT EVERY TIME I MAKE A PURCHASE, I'M TAKING A GAMBLE AFTER BEING TAKEN FOR OVER $100.00.

Tricky isn't it? I know of no one who will refund shipping that you pay to return an item. You can get reimbursed for shopping channel type purchases that normally come with a 30 day money back guarantee - like QVC, HSN, TSC and such (your initial cost and shipping). Ebay? i know it's not much help with the stuff you are not happy with, but in future, perhaps do more research on the seller (feedback #, type of feedback, what kind of person are they who is selling - sometimes people will give detailed reasons for selling, eg. received as gift, never used, or used a lot etc ) - reading all the print in the listing -what they will or will not cover - do they list what to do with DOA's.
Also, email the seller to ask questions in advance (eg. is it in good working condition now?), and, use your gut re buying an item as well. Research who is selling the same item, and put a whole bunch in My Ebay and compare - don't always rush in to get something. I have despaired at times i missed something, and will find it appears weeks or even month later from another seller.
Don't give up, and good luck :)

If someone has a feedback rating less than 98% I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.

If your experience is to repeatedly be ripped off then I am guessing it might be time to either change your buying strategy - or to forget Ebay. I have only been ripped off in this way by ONE company - and by the time I had paypal claw back fees and had them visited under sale-of-goods, I felt I had done enough.

You could try and sue them (or if you felt sadistic, "sew" them), but unless your time is worth nothing and you have free lawyers on hand, my suggestion would be to move on and avoid them. Feel free to leave a neg feedback on their profile too - though they will almost certainly do the same in return.

You are right to be annoyed about this - BUT being realistic about it, there is not a greay deal that can be easily done - other than taking care to buy more carefull in the future.

It IS a balls-ache though I agree.

Hi, Buying things on ebay, you really need to check out their feedbacks, read through some them for return problems. You can also email seller and ask them what they do if you buy something that is DOA, keeps your email reply's.
Some sellers don't care, they figure if you take the time to pay to have it shipped back then they will refund it, most won't bother unless it's really high priced. Ebay should help you, if you paid through paypal, you can dispute it and paypal will take it out of their bank account, nothing they can do about it. Keep everything you send, I hope someone can help you.
Good Luck

either you are doing something wrong with the parts you buy since you have had such bad luck or you need to research the sellers feedback better. I have been a buyer and seller on E Bay for over 6 years and have had only one problem and Pay Pal worked it out and I got a refund. I suggest you use pay-pal as they offer buyer protection. But I have the feelling there is something you are not saying here No offence

DUDE! Did you even look at their shipping terms?! A lot of them, including myself, DO NOT refund shipping cost and if a return is made, the buyer has to pay for shipping and insurance to ship it back to the seller. And if a refund has to be given, its only a partial due to a restocking fee. It's all in the Terms, read the terms of the auction before bidding.

Take them to small claims court? Use better judgement and only deal with people who have high ratings......specify a NO RETURN POLICY, sell products AS IS, etc...

I've never had a problem on ebay
