I am in a college speech class and I need something relatively simple because I don't have much time to write it.

Well, if you want to keep it really simple, you could persuade people on "Why Everyone Should Eat Breakfast". Easy and quick!

One topic would be why are college students so uncreative these days, that they cannot think of a topic to write a persuasive speech? Have you picked up a newspaper or looked at the news recently? Our culture is crumbling around us, our government is a mess, we are in a war, and you can't think of anything to write about....

I think it is embarrassing that you are a college student and posting this question.

If you don't have much time then go for something that you know about.

If you're a member of Friends of the Puppies, then talk about the need to save puppies and raise them well (bring a puppy).

If you're a member of the 420 on Friday club, talk about the need to legalize pot.

You get the idea? You will already have the fact and the basic arguments -- you'll simply need to polish the "vehicle".

Start with something that is on the same subject you are on, but something that everyone knows about.

For ex. If you were writing an essay on extinction you could start with the dinosaurs ans slide into your topic.

Pick something very interesting to you and you can come up with the most fascinating speech. You have to personalize it and it will come naturally.

I agree with celebrity4lyf18.

Abortion is such a hot topic that you will be able to find more than enough info. The search terms "abortion" and/or "pro-life" / "pro-choice" should be sufficient to get quick info (check my source).
