No i would not put a blanket on your miniature horse. the horse should grow it winter hair. only if it get really cold. most horses that are blanket get sick more often that the ones who are not. If you do blanket make shure you take it off and brush him.

No, of course not! Horses, like many other animals, adapt to their climate. Unless you clip your horse, you do not need to blanket him. My horses stay out all winter here and we have some pretty harsh winters. I used to stall them, but they love being able to run. You know, if you show a lot or something I would definately stall them. We use ours for cattle purposes, so they do not need it. They do not lots of fresh water in the winter though!

i wouldn't blanket him. there's no need if you don't clip him. he will adapt to the weather by growing a winter coat. i've never blanketed my horses. but remember once you start blanketing a horse they get dependent on it! you wouldn't like it if I took your coat away in the middle of the winter! lol! tttyl!

That depends, my 14 y/o appy's white only grows, so I blanket him. His chestnut-roan doesnt grow, and thats 75 % of him. I blanket my boy when its in the low 40's. But I live in CA, and thats not too common.

good luck =^)

If the horse is stabled, probably not. I dont know where you are? How cold is winter? Your horse will get thin if he has too use his energy to stay warm.

Generally no, particularly if they are in a stable at night. If they are turned out at night, you may want to blanket them, but you don't have to.
