Registered Nurse here; Yes it is possible and it has happened, however the odds are astronomical, and anytime one is born with this significant of an abnormality-odds are there is other abnormalities as well. Usually the ability to conceive is not possible for reason's referenced above. However I have heard of a couple of cases in which one of the uterus es, were removed and the female went on to have a normal life and reproduce. The fact is this is so rare, little medical evidence is available, even to Physicians.

Yes, it's possible. The uterus starts out in fetal life from two separate ducts (called Mullerian ducts) that eventually fuse to form a single cavity. Sometimes this process doesn't complete properly, and there are a few malformations that can result:

A single uterus with a septum down the middle
A uterus with two horns at the top and one cervix (bicornuate)
A double uterus with a single cervix and vagina
A completely doubled uterus, such that the two horns are separate and each has its own ovary, tube, and vagina

That last case is what you saw on Grey's Anatomy (I saw it, too). That's the only case where you could have two pregnancies by two different fathers that are several weeks apart on their due dates. Sometimes it is possible to have twins that are slightly discordant in age when egg release is somewhat erratic and intercourse is fairly frequent. They could also have different fathers, but they would not be as different in age as they were on Grey's.

Yes it is... it's also possible for a woman to have a bicornuate uterus, where the uterus develops two additional chambers on the top.

yes it is possible, but it is very unlikely. If they do they will have problems and will know that they do, also their doctor will be able to tell. Did you get this off of Grey's Anatomy, b/c the lady in the maternity ward had two uterus'.

i also wondered that, my friend and i were discussing this yesterday. i think its possible for anyone to have more than the right amount of organs. it would be a birth defect though.
