Anything nylon and viscose is great because it is very stretchy but does emphasize lumps and bumps even in a black colour so I would only wear this material in some types of clothing. But cotton fabrics are the very best and do the job they need to do.
The types of clothes that emphasizes any curves the most are things like legginngs, Denim, tight leather, sleevles tops, and woolen fabrics are a definite no no. These are the main things to avoid if you want to appear slimmer.
Where there is weight at the hips, and to give emphasis to the waist, is a fitted-cotton blouse. It can take pounds off a fuller figure and is also smart and makes you feel and look very attractive. A fitted blouse comes in at the waist and any fabric will do as long as it is plain and not patterned or striped.
To decrease breast size, the bra is the important thing and that it fits, but fitted blouses put emphasis on the waist and takes the emphasis off hips and boobs. Keep to plain colours and pastel colours as these always reflect a more youthful skin-tone too. Anything with stirpes and patterns stay well away from as have made that mistake many times before and makes someone even a few inches overweight, very big indeed!
Bootleg trousers in black are fantastic and slim legs like no tomorrow. I wear them all the time as they take stones off a bigger frame. Either strechy (nylon) or cotton ones work wonders. Skirts that come to the ankles are great as long as they don't have too much room in them. Pencil skirts that come to the knees are great and also slim the lower part of the body. Again, keep to cotton materials - not lycra or viscose materials that stretch (for skirts) bootleg or bell-bottomed trousers you can have any material.
Only wear denim jeans if they are bell-bottommed or bootcut shaped as the denim will make you look enormous if they don't flair out at the bottom of the legs.
A fake tanning lotion can take a few pounds of your face and body because it gives the illussion of shadows where there is excess weight. Darker colours always slim so they are usually what I wear most of the time, but it is the cut of something that is important and sometimes the material.
Try to avoid sheer fabrics (see-through) clothes as they don't look good on anyone unless you are absoloutley flat everywhere. Nylon/viscose is okay mainly in tops, as long as the material is fitted at the waist. Woolen fabrics make people look huge and this should be avoided. These are the only fabrics I really know of but cotton materials are always the best types of materials to aim for.
Hope I have given some useful advice?

It mostly depends on the style and the color.
I wouldn't suggest horizontal stripes.
Try to not wear tight things.. but not loose things.
Pastels make you look bigger.
Fall colors make you look slimmer (somewhat).
Try to accent your best feature. To bring attention up to your face, try something new with make-up or jewlery or an attractive hairstyle.
If you want to accent your chest, wear something with a detail such as embellishments or lace or even a cute neckline.
I think empire waistlines look good on everyone!
Don't wear belts that stand out unless you have a proportion problem, it can accent your hips/waist.
Hope I Helped Some!!
