I have to question laws that say a teenage girl can have a surgery to terminate her unborn child without her parents' knowledge, but would allow her to die in an emergency room because her parents weren't present to sign the right to allow an appendectomy. It's a very sensitive issue and one that will probably never be solved with all sides in agreement. I personally believe that life begins at conception. But there are so many children having children. The moral decay of our country is alarming. Rape and incest make up less than 1% of the abortions performed in this country. It has become just another means of birth control. It's human censorship. But I, like you, while entitled to my opinions and beliefs, give that same right to others. If she is comfortable with her choice, then it is hers to make. All you can do is support her whatever her decision. Good luck to both of you.

I think a teen should be required to tell a parent. A teen is not an adult. I know if feels like one,but the law and the medical field will tell you that a teens mind is not fully developed. That a normal functioning brain of a teenager is not capable of making such life choices on their own. That's is why they have an age limit on alochole ,tattoo's, pricing and fighting for your country, and voting. It is also a reason a minor cannot enter into a contract. With all that said a teen should not have the power to murder an unborn baby. They don't have the capacity to reason why abortion could or would be murder. They see it as a way out of a bad situation.Make it go away. as it never happen. If her family is abusive then she should tell someone that she is afraid of them and get some help to get away from them. If she is old enough to have sex and Young enough not to protect herself from unwanted pregnancy she is still old enough to know how to tell someone she is afraid of her abusive parents. Godspeed

If people think that they are mature and responsible enough to have sex, then they should be mature and responsible enough to raise a child. I don't support the abortion issue, but for the sake of this question, yes I do believe that a minor female should be required to tell her parents that she is pregnant. However I believe that a minor who is pregnant and is living at home and decides to go full term, the parents should be required by law to help there child in the responsible raising of that child until there child is of legal age and/or has completed there education. I think that if some of the burden is laid on the parents, people will sit up and take notice, maybe start teaching there children to be responsible about sex.

no because the parents can be abusive..
what if the dad raped the girl? what if he is some crazy @.. that wanted to get her pregnant?
teens are old enough to make their own decisions. no they are not adults but i know for a fact that they know themselves more than their parents do, they know their likes and dislikes, maybe they don't know what they wanna do in the future but they are able to decide for themselves
even if we are talking about abortions, it's not the parent's decision. it's the girl's. you may think i'm nutts and say that the girl doesn't know better or that she should learn from the consequences. but what if you were in her condition? you don't know. you can tell me that you would abort/give birth for sure but you really don't know untill you are pregnant.
even if you were/are pregnant, you don't know for sure unless you are a teen that's pregnant.
which is why i don't like the fact that some MEN in DC or in any other place are making that decision right now.

Yes, I think teen girls should need parental approval before having an abortion. I have to sign a permission slip for my teens to have Tylenol at school, a surgical procedure is much more invasive and dangerous.
I would also raise a grand-baby, than see one murdered. I would want the opportunity to choose that.
In cases of abuse the teen must seek advice from a trusted adult and get help seeking court intervention. Incest does happen a lot more than we would like to think. The court system could help the girl get away from the abuser.

for people who think of that they are fetuses in basic terms and not toddlers- a coronary heart is thrashing- and what's one subject that shows existence- a beating coronary heart. - at 3 weeks after thought. 4,000 toddlers an afternoon are aborted in usa on my own- and that's not in basic terms information on a Christian internet site- you will locate that everywhere- and did you recognize that under 2% of abortions carried out are in rape and for the wellness of the mummy? till they finally stop it - you have an abortion up till the day that your toddler became added- so in basic terms days earlier the toddler would be with the aid of be born- you're able to abort- so for people who're asserting that's no longer a new child- whilst DOES IT replace right into a new child. This concern does get me going, for some reasons- one with the aid of fact that's legalized homicide, and likewise i'm going to have been aborted- my mom gave me existence and placed me for adoption- and my 2 infants are accompanied- if our mothers had chosen abortion for us- we would have been between the 50,000,000 toddlers that weren't given a raffle to stay. AMEN- shop speaking the certainty, perhaps at some point human beings will see the mild. INFINITY- so that's larger to take the existence of an adolescent, then locate the thank you to look after it- the two your self or by using adoption? no longer a new child till that's BORN? think ofyou've have been given to be kidding????

Not everyone has nice parents. Some parents are abusive. Some parents or relatives may even be responsible for the pregnancy. Have some trust that the teenage girl is doing what she feels is best for her situation. Also have trust in the medical system that the doctor will talk to her about the situation too.

YES !!!!
It happens to be on the ballot in my state too.
It's just to notify parents. Parents are there to comfort and help in an emotional situation as a teenage pregnancy.
Abuse is already handled through Child Protection.
Quit watching the TV adds on issues, such as this. Do your own research.

I dont think they should be required to tell their parents, because it is not the parent's baby, its not their decision. It should be up to the mom and the dad of the baby. Not the parents. And if the mother and father cant make a decision then they should tell. Just my oppinion. Peace out. Lataz. Luv/Kodi
