No it isn't alive in the normal sense that the term alive is used. A computer virus is a code which has a malicious objective and is activated in the same way as other computer programs but initially without the operators knowledge.

Technically, an organic virus isn't alive either, because it doesn't conform to the seven (i think it's seven) properties of life. But you're quite right, a virus is basically just a stack of DNA surrounded by some protein - just some information.

regardless of the shown fact that the argument of a working laptop or laptop software being alive is a increasing subject, a software isn't alive. a working laptop or laptop software is a sequence of instructions that are given for a purpose. a working laptop or malicious software is a software that "infects" different .exe's and could become area of that .exe and interior the approach replicates itself. The virus merely exists interior contaminated executables, for this reason that’s why its pronounced as an endemic. it somewhat is likewise comparable to organic and organic viruses which desires a bunch to proceed to exist... merely comparable to a working laptop or malicious software for this reason that’s the place the call comes from. you ought to ask the question, is a working laptop or malicious software synthetic existence? by using fact it is not in any respect existence in any organic and organic scene. i might agree they seem to be a variety of guy-made existence, yet malicious software’s are actually not ALIVE by using fact they have no scene of what they are doing or why, they do exactly the failings they do by using fact they have been informed to. issues that are alive have a SCENCE of why they do issues and can substitute or (have a decision) on what they do.

Its a series of predetermined logic. Its not capable of doing anything outside of its scope. On its own, its not capable of change or adapting.
