Unfair, people have privacy. If someone chooses to do drugs that's their choice. As long as they do not disturb the other students it should be ok.

And to what purpose would it serve?
We already know that more than 50% of kids have experienced with drugs. Do we need to do testings to figure it out?
Instead we should forcus on teaching kids how to be smart decision makers, independant, and have high self esteem. If they felt these things they wouldn't be pressured into trying drugs or do something stupid like take drugs.
Random drug testings does not solve the problem. We should prevent the problem rather than let it get to a point where we as a society can no longer handle it.

I think that it is a very good idea to get the kids accustom to what is going to happen out in the real world when they go to look for a job and have to pee in a cup when they apply for that job. More and more companies make you do a drug test before they hire you. But I don't think that it should just be given to the athletes,it should be given to all students.

yes absolutely! Kids need to know if they are getting the straight dope or just more absolute crap. We are talking about testing the administrators at least up to the school board level and the legislators, right.
The Feds are well enough off that they can pay for their own drug testing.

I think it's a good way to clean up the school. It's only fair to those who are not doing drugs and want to get a good education.

i don't think it's right. it's not a job, those kids are going because they have to. it's a total invasion of privacy. if some kid wants to smoke pot and they still get good grades, more power to them. it's part of being a teenager. the only reason to kick kids out of school should be their performance. if they aren't worth teaching then get them out and leave more room for the kids who want to learn, regardless if some of those kids smoke a little pot on the weekends.

I consider that to be a major invasion of privacy.
However, in sports I can see the need because of the prevailance of steroids.
