Two HPT's mean that the pregnancy (HCG) hormone is high enough to register (NEEDS TO BE 50-100 depending on the test). Typically you will not see anything on an ultrasound unless the HCG is 1000+ (Typically 5 weeks), then you can see a yolk sac, not the embryo. At 6 weeks you should be able to see the yolk sac, and embryo with a heart beat. At 7 weeks the embryo is a little larger, and the heart beat can be heard through the Vaginal probe.

If there was nothing on your ultrasound, your days could be off by a week or two (ovulated late than thought). The Dr should do a blood test to check HCG levels, see if they are doubling properly.

If the blood test has no HCG, you probably had a chemical pregnancy. (+HPT, +blood test, but #'s don't go up enough to produce the embryo). I would have the Dr recheck you, or get a second opinion-- they should give you this information.

Why would the doctors do an ultrasund at 4 weeks, just to let you know at 4 weeks you are actualy only 2 weeks pregnant, because the first week counts as your period and the second one as ovulation. Therefore you won't be able to see anything yet. Most ultrasounds are performed at 19 weeks of pregnancy for the first time but sometimes if they find something wrong with your blood or urine tests then they perform an ultrasound as early as 8 weeks. You are just freaking out a little bit too much.

A doctor is smart enough to know when to expect to see something in an ultrasound or not. Many things could have happenened here. Maybe you were incorrect about the conception date? Did your doctor say to come back in a few weeks and see if there is anythin on the ultrasound again? It also could be that your body is setting up to miscarry..........I think you need to discuss the findings better with your doctor.

When I found out I was pregnant with my second I was about 4 weeks I made an appointment with the doc a week later and they couldn't see anything in the ultrasound so they asked me to come back in two weeks and when I did they could see a tiny little spot "the baby". It might just be too early to see him/her don't worry.

When my pregnancy test came back positive I made an ultrasound app and I was 5 weeks and all that they could see was a sac at that point. Thats pretty standard. I think you go back at like 8 weeks for another one. CONGRATS!

If you had positive pregnancy tests - and your u/s showed a baby - then you are pregnant.
