I have heard all these reasons suggested by people on the right and the left at various times. Which one (or ones) do you think are the real reasons for our invasion?

(And even better, why do you think that?)

Well, very few people on either side thought they didn't have WMDs. Unfortunately, we relied on "intelligence" from dissident Iraqis and it proved to be false. And of the Axis of Evil that Bush named Iraq was the one that had invaded an other country. So far Korea and Iran have not done so.

So with false intel and record of invasion Iraq was a target for invasion by the Bush Administration.

Ain't you heard, War is the new economy. Lots of money is flowing into lots of pockets - - - look how fast Congress rubber stamped the War, the more contracts floating around the more opportunities for graft & corruption, already a half a billion ear-marked for weapons for Iraq's new army has gone missing (see Sixty Minutes expose), it is an age old game called 'Loot & Burn the American Tax Payer.' And look what the War has done for the economy in your neighborhood. Every hamlet burg city town village wide-spot-in-the-road demanding money to pay for a medical-center or a recreation camp or a stretch of highway to 'Honor a Dead Fallen Hero.' The Medical Communitty has prospered greatly; are you aware the average trauma-amputee needs a dozen or so specialist or more over months into years of therapy. Or that a Doctor serving a year or so in Iraq can double or triple their salary stateside due to the experience they have aquired? But perhaps this argument is a shade one sided. To his credit Geo W is on a mission from God. Pride & Arrogance are definite factors in the War in Iraq. Prejudice is another factor - - - for many Americans brown skinned people speaking a foreign tongue are easilly disposable.

Peace

Reagan and Bush did no longer sell Saddam Hussein WMD's. They bought him the methods by skill of which he may lead them to, alongside with many different countries, thoroughly against many treaties. Reagan and Bush at as quickly as bought him palms, that's an entire different ball of wax. WMD's is how this administration bought the want of going to war in Iraq to the yankee people. something of the international did no longer purchase it for a single 2d, yet sufficient people interior the U. S. bought it hook, line and sinker. It became out to be finished bull, yet maximum Republicans additionally excepted the administration's next excuse, which replaced into regime exchange. usual Republicans pushing the standard lies and the standard American bovine retard conservatives falling for it lower back and lower back. If I have been a Republican, i may well be embarrassed approximately myself. i does no longer be waiting to look myself interior the mirror. And shaving may well be an extremely massive difficulty, as maximum sheep % a great sort of shearing. Baaaaah.

1. No weapons of mass destruction
2. No democracy
3. No revenge cause Iraq never did anything to the US
4. Probably terrorism

That leave the real reason...OIL! That's right folks, the US is after the oil and is stealing it, that's the truth, accept it.

Well I think so because the US never does anything if there isn't anything it will benefit from.

The real reasons definitely are not revealed. But I doubt oil, since nothing is coming out of there oil wise. I am going to say terrorism, WMD's, and Democracy in that order

Saddam put a reward out on Bush Sr.'s head. Many felt Bush did a poor job in the Desert Storm conflict. In general I think Bush Jr is making his daddy's wish come true. Not doing a very good job of it.

i think it was revenge for Saddam trying to kill the former president bush
why else would we go to war when Saddam did not let radicalism grow in his country or have connections with terrorists or have any wmds and was supported by the USA in its war with Iran
it got personal!

Because our small-minded president wanted to prove to his daddy that he was a real president.

He can't find Osama, so he invaded Iraq. He knew he wouldn't get much resistance, the U.S. kicked the crap out of Saddam and his army in Desert Storm, and they never recovered. However, he never realized the amount of the resistance he would receive when we "liberated" their citizens.

Political points from his party. It worked, he was re-elected.

After more than fifty years on this planet, I can honestly say this man is even worse than Nixon. Nixon was paranoid, this man is evil and a threat to all Americans.

Israel
The Israeli government prayed for the attack on Iraq, which has eliminated the strategic threat posed by Iraq. America was pushed into the war by a group of Neo-Conservatives, almost all of them Jews, who had a huge influence on the White House. In the past, some of them had acted as advisers to Binyamin Netanyahu
And the Israeli lobby is working hard on Iran war call right now
To say oil well, the USA coast of the war can buy Iraqi oil for the next 100 years weak up ppl

I think that WMD was the first "reason" to do it. And after we never found any, we didn't want to look stupid by admitting that. So we just came up with some vague "let's free the Iraqi People" thing as an excuse to stay here.
