this is not about fear of committment.. it's about the idea of committment itself.. I believe it's way too deep to be thought of when we're only 17 or 18..
My personality still changes, I'm not sure of everything about me yet, and lol I definately haven't met the right guy!
the thing is.. some girls around my age are engaged.. I don't think that's okay, do you?
=)

I'm so not ready to get engaged before I'm 20. I'm only 18. That's way too early. I know it sounds cliche but I don't think a person is mature enough to be engaged that early. He/she might wanna concentrate on school/career first and then when they're financially ready, they could get engaged. Well, it's just me anyway. Two of my friends are already engaged and one of them plans to get married soon.

If and when I really and truly fall in love with someone, I would definitley be ready to be engaged - no matter the age. People who are engaged at an early age like 17 or 18 haven't experienced life yet - in the majority of marriages, the ones who get divorced are the ones who married too early in life.

Personally, as an 18 year old, I definately don't feel prepared to settle down and stick with one guy for the rest of my life.

However, some people mature faster, and feel they've found "the one" sooner.

Although I would not get engaged at my age, I'm not going to judge other people who do. Its their choice, and I hope they're happy.

However, I would strongly reccommend pre-marital counseling to make sure they were prepared for that kind of commitment.

i'm so sorry you're dealing with this. this is your life and you are the only one to blame for accomplishing what you % out of it. while you at the instant are not satisfied, get out of the courting. you do no longer % to stay in it to evade hurting his thoughts because of the fact which you have got many regrets and you will finally end up blaming him and it it will kill your courting. you need to communicate on your fiancee approximately this, in basic terms an identical way you have advised us. If he would not get it, then perchance he's egocentric and you do no longer % that interior the 1st place. it relatively is plenty extra desirable you already know this now than to realize it later, good? ultimate of success!

It depends on the person. Everyone is different and has different levels of maturity at various stages in their life. I think it's ok if that's what they want.
