I've owned a Gateway for 7 years and I've almost no problems. Why does everybody hate Gateway?

Their parts are hard to replace becuase alot of the boards are incorporated into the motherboard and can not be separated.

I didn't hate them until I had one of my own - purchased about 6 years ago. Nothing but problems from the very beginning. But then again, if you listen and talk to enough people you'll find that virtually every brand is hated by someone. It's all dependent upon their experience. I currently have a Compaq Presario that I bought nearly 2 years ago and never had a problem with it *knocking on wood*.

yeah i dont like gateway machines, badly built, low quality parts, with the hard drives or power supplies failing all the time
their laptops are even worse for this.
when i used to have my own computer shop i would be repairing about 10-20 per week compared to any other machine like dell's hp/compaq etc
