There is always a chance. Only abstinence is completely effective at preventing pregnancy. She should consider using birth control pills while you continue using condoms. This double protection is the best policy.

That is a scary situation. I was in the same situation about 6 months ago. There is still hope however that your girlfriend is not pregnant. Condoms are effective - most of the time. Some women's periods are off a little anyway is what my girlfriend's doctor said, but we were scared for about a 2 week timeframe. Sometimes there are effectiveness problems with condoms. Some have microscopic holes that can let the semen (even just a LITTLE bit) and that can cause pregnancy. It only takes one little thing to fertilize an egg. I hope everything works out well but what really helped us was having a visit with the doctor. Best of luck.

Condoms are what like 98 or 99% effective, so yeah there is a small chance. There is an even bigger chance if you didn't use it correctly. Like you started having sex then put on a condom or if the condom slipped a little. Also as far as her period being late, many things can cause that: weight gain, weight loss, stress, and of course pregnancy. Good luck. Hope all turns out in your favor.

Absolutely there's a possibility of being pregnant. Condoms are a very good way to protect agains STD (Sexually Transmitted Diseases) and pregnancy but they are not full proof. On the other hand there are many things that can cause your girlfriends "late" cycle. It could be something as simple as stress or something more "medical" such as a problem with her thyroid...Is this her first sexual encounter? If so there's a high possibility it could be stressed related. If you have any doubt go buy a pregnancy kit at your local drug store. If you can't afford one have her see her family doctor (she doesn't need to let her parents know and the doctor won't tell them).

Nothing is 100 percent against pregnancy other than not having it all. So wait until it is time for your period following when you had sex, and if you are more than a week late just take a test... You will usually know by different body signs within 6 wks of getting pregnant, you are more tired, your breasts hurt, you eat less maybe more.. certian smells will bother you that didn't before.. Things like that.

Duhh! The only sure way not to get pregnant is not to have sex. There has been instances where women do get pregnant only using a condom. Hopefully if neither one of you want it you won't be pregnant. If that's the case she should start the pill or use something else along with a condom. She needs to go to her Dr. ASAP if she doesn't want a bun in the oven.

Yes- condoms are not 100% effective. Any sexual activity always causes a chance for pregnancy.

Condoms are only 98% efficient... sometimes there is a minute apperture (those little critters don't need a lot of room to sneak in) and pregnancy occurs... you better hold your breath and have her go for pregnancy test to find out for sure.... good luck!

Used correctly, condoms are highly effective. But, like any other birth control method, they have a failure rate. And using them incorrectly can increase that rate. The statistics are there on the box.
