Well, that's nothing. My neighbours have been arguing since afternoon and i think they've exchanged punches at one point. I say this is worse coz i really can't do much about it, if i try and stop them it'll be like i aint minding my own business, it's really hard, especially if there's violence.....and i can hear their 3yr-old cry too.

Go round there and have a word. Perhaps best not to do it while they are in the throes of passion - you never know, they might ask you to join them.
If it's a persistent problem you can report them for noise pollution, it happens more often than you'd expect.
For a one time annoyance I'm personally a big fan of banging enthusiastically on the wall and moaning loudly and theatrically, talking dirty in a comical way to yourself and any one else in the room.

Join in the fun and let off your own bangers off.
Remember, remember the fifth of November
Gun powder treason and plot.
Though Guys Fawkes is officially not until tomorrow, most folk are letting off their bangers tonight.

If I were you, I'd (1) move out, or (2) make a worse racket than theirs. Bang till hell breaks loose, and if that doesn't work, return to option #1.

Buy ear-plugs, sleep in a different room, play music. I wouldn't knock on their door either. Surely that won't last forever.

Do what I do and jump up and down on the bed - make a lot of noise - pretend you are having a better time than them.

If it bothers you then tell them when you see them. If it doesn't bother you and you don't have a girlfriend it might be the perfect time to let out some your own "steam"

Sh!t were you in? Sorry mate, thought you'd gone out... what are you doing in on a saturday night?!
Nah, it's not me (did you think it was, good little actress aren't I?), but we have had people outside our flat cheering us on! A little embarassing... Just cough loudly so they know how thin the walls are.
