You can run wire from the service panel to the oppositre end of the house. As long as you use the proper guage for amperage.

depends. unless you live in some multi-million dollar home, you can run it as far as you need it to go inside the house. if you are running a wire outside to a shed or to several post lights far from the house, you should up the size of the wire by one notch to accound for voltage drop

depends on the length of run, and when in doubt and you dont know the voltage drop calculations, run a larger wire size than required...example: need a20 amp outlet 500 feet from house..instead of running a #12 wire (20 amp) run a #10 wire(30 amps) This reduces the volage drop in long runs

I have a wire running out to a garden water pump that is 350ft length. It seems to work okay. Long stretch of wire results in lower voltage. It also depends how far your home is from the transformer supplying your home.
