You are confused, circumcising a girl means removing the clitoris, there is no sexual pleasure just reproduction. It would be the equivelent as far a pleasure goes of removing the penis not just circumsising it. This is a mutilation done generally in moslem nations to make sure a woman has no desire for sex and is less likely to cheat. Yes 10 yrs seems like the least he should get.

Females are not circumcised. He was castrating her, at home, without a doctor's instruction. There's a big difference. Even Jewish people don't circumcise their boys at home.
that story was in the news last week. the guy was an immigrant, he came from a country where that stuff was done to girls all the time. his daughter was just a little girl, and he did it to her at home.
I agree with the other people. That guy should get more than a few years in jail. He should never be allowed to have babies again.

No I do not think it was right. I think he should have gotten the death penality, or at least life.
No one but an animal would do that to a child much less his own.
This a part of the great culture explosion some liberals are asking us to accept or face being called racists. It's sick of both the liberal establishment in the free world for putting up with it and calling it culture.
Why is it that every time something has to be culture several things happen.
It's always the female who must suffer the effects.
It's always degrading, unhealthy, and often life threatening.
It's always religious related to plaease a man, or men.
It's always nothing more than control over women.
And
It never happens to a man.
Any court or judge which gives the man less than life in prison with his personals rmoved(nothing but a hole for the bigger boys to paly with) does not deserve to be called a judge or court, and should be removed.
People and natio0ns and the free world must take a stand against things like this and bring the worse punishment possible to those who inflect it on females and female children
to get the message across that his type of crime is not acceptable.

Of course you can circumcise a girl. It's done every day in some countries, and it's a practice that our government has recognized in the past as a reason for granting assylum to refugee women. This practice of female genital mutilation (cutting off the clitoris) is used to deny women pleasure during intercourse and to assert absolute male dominance over wives and daughters--ultimately making women no less than property. And to answer the question, yes. It's absolutely right for the guy to go to jail for doing this to his daughter.

It depends, I think. Some cultures require feminine circumcision. I think the fault would come if the daughter didn't want to be circumcised and the father forced it on her. Especially if the daughter grew up in a modern/culturally different society.

that is a most terrible act, clipping the clitoris to make sex not pleasurable. I'm not sure what the punishment should be, but the female will have a lifetime of sadness because of his actions.
By the way guys, you absolutely can circumcise women! Look it up. But have a Strong stomach, because it is gross!

With all due respect, you can circumcise a female and it is done in some cultures.
It essentially is removing a female clitoris!
!st of all, he was no MD!
Secondly, no I don't think it was right to give him 10! They should have sentenced him to the date he could no longer have intercourse, or get it up! He can do what he wants in prison!
He took away a persons sex life for their entire life! Ten years wasn't close to being am appropriate sentence!
Mutilated genitalia of a female is unacceptable and criminal!

It's not "circumcising" it's EXCISING. Female Genital MUTILATION. Not reduction of sensation (which for a man may be no bad thing -- it prolongs pleasure for many; reduces the susceptibility to HIV; improves appearance to many or most women; makes him eligible to be a porn star, a Muslim or a Jew . . . and lots of other beneifts.
That Ethiopian should have had LIFE PLUS 100 years in prison. Every American woman is entitled to an ORGASM each and every time.

In the countries that they are doing this it is not really a circumcision but it cutting off the clitoris. It is inhumane and if anyone if found doing they should get life.

i know what you are talking about they do that in other countries so the women will not have sex drives and cheat on there husbands. Yes i do bc that is very painfull and it has long time effects on the women. for men it is not a big deal bc it does not hurt there sex drives or anything else. It just helps them stay cleaner. So it is not good for a girl to get that done.
