I think Jamelia and Lemar have a following a it's a matter of opinion if you like their music or not but as for the Blue guys, I think thats their desperate attempt to make some sort of comeback!!!

For sure these songs are mediocre and annoying.
It's not new though, there's always duff stuff in the charts as well as decent material. Many great acts have never had a number one while dreadful records make it all the time. Way back in 1967 The Beatles were kept from No.1 by Engelbert Humperdinck who had a dreadful song.
The worse it is, more people seem to like it!

I agree there is a lot of mediocrity around these days, most of it stemming from a single writing source. Eg I cannot stand the so-called music coming from Girls Aloud or Sugababes. But there are also some very exciting and cool bands around too. Loving The Kooks and The Killers

i think that lemar, jamelia and the blue boys are awseome singers and going out on ur own and producing something on ur own is brave and all but i prefer blue as a group and i only really liked jamelia's first song superstar anyways

i like all sorts of music, all sorts of singers from all different backgrounds, anything that sounds good and funky and catchy or wistful and romantic and enchanting and wholesome. one type of music i dont warm up to is heavy metal and alternate....
i quite like one or 2 of jamelia's and the same goes for lemar, i dont know all of their songs but i honestly think that the same applies to music when one says "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"...only, "eye..." should be "ear of..." i see you say that sometimes talented people produce rubbish, i agree, madonna, britney, michael, all of them have had their moments, do you get it right ALL the time?

i suppose when they make the songs they actually think that people will like them. the songs just dont appeal to every one. sometimes they were better in a group than solo. but hey if there music isnt selling you wont have to worry about it for a lot longer coz there record labels will dump them

The last new song I heard was "We never went to church" as I'm still stuck on the Magic music channel. However the music I've heard round and about sounds no different to usual.

I know that I do, most of the time I haven't been listening because of those songs, they are just to boring. They really do know how to bring down a party too. I just don't understand why these writers can't see that

i think the pop industry is a pile of crap. they release music they didnt even write in the first place. then try and make a cover of good rock songs etc... the rock industry is so much better. at least it reqiures talent and being able to play guitar and sing etc... the pop industry is about looks and sex. and its disgusting some of the videos out there that are flauntign sex and kids watch them thinking its fine to act grown up like that. pop industry is a waste of time.

I think their producers make them do those songs. They don't always write their own songs.
Their producers decide to make these 'boring' songs because the are safe and don't involve risk so the singers' status is retained.
