I want to thank all of you for answering my question. I'm going to be looking for the cd's mentioned. I think I'll watch the movie again too.

The song is called "Angel", it's sung by Sarah McLachlan. And yes, it's on the "City of Angels" soundtrack. It can also be found on her "Surfacing" CD, as well as a live version on her "Mirrorball" CD.
