I just saw a 13 year old ask what banging means...of course this kind of question brings out the typical comics and goofs...maybe I'm not changing with the times...

I guess it is good for kids to get these answers but some adults are too immature to give a straight answer

That's exactly why Answers needs to be for people over 18.

As with all things there is both good and bad.

The good part is there is a place they can come without fear of discovery and express there concerns or fears or questions about life. Children are more likely to ask things here they would never think of asking there parents. Of course they may not always be beneficial, just curious, but they are at least talking.

The bad side is, at that age, they are not yet at a point where they know what a good or bad answer is. If someone gives an answer that sounds reasonable but is in fact not true at all they may not know it.

If they choose to believe that over a good answer it has served no purpose what so ever. And we all know there is always someone that could not be serious if their life depended on it.

The answer to your question? Yes there is the danger of that. The only real hope is that parents are the major influence in their lives and will insure they will know right from wrong. In the final analysis this si the most important.

Comment. I am an old woman and I just received an e-mail from a 12 year old--"are you a kind person????" Blew my mind. I answered one of her questions. It seems that she may just need someone to talk to and be a friend. Yes, I will be kind and "no" I am not a stupid, gullible old woman. Some parents do not want to be parents. Personally, I loved it. I guess there is no answer--just comments--at this point. Nothing is perfect. (Actually, what is perfect??)

I try to be good to the kids on here just because so many people are cruel to them.
As far as Yahoo rearing our children, it's up to the parents to watch what the kids are doing online. I have seen the kinds of questions you're talking about. I'VE EVEN HAD A PARENT OF A CHILD E-MAIL ME! Where was she when her child was online??

Yeah, I know what you mean. But, truthfully, it's the parents that are allowing their kids on this site and kids ask questions here because they're afraid to ask their parents. I mean, if I were 13, I wouldn't come up to my parents and ask them what banging meant. Would you? She knew it meant something bad, so she came here where nobody knew her to ask her embarassing question.
