It is possible your daughter could be lactose intolerant. All four of my children had to be fed soybean formula when they were not breastfed.

I agree with the other ladies. Do not change formulas w/o your pediatrician in on it.

My son had a terrible time with Similac, also. I think your daughter might be one milk formula. You may try giving your daughter either Enfimal Gentle Ease, or Nestle Good Start. These to formulas have about 1/4 of the lactose in them. Personally, my favorite formula out of the two is the Nestle Good Start. Please only use the soy formula as a last resort. If your doctor insists you use a soy formula try using an organic soy formula it might be safer, but I not totally sure. Enfimal also has a Lacto Free formula which you may try or one that starts when a N that might be ok.

One other thing you could try is getting the Dr. Brown bottles. Walmart also has a bottle called Parent's Choice that works well and is cheaper then the Dr. Brown ones. My second choice would be the Playtex Nursers.

I have never breastfed but I have tried similac and it made my kids very fussy and they tended to spit up a lot. Also, you should try talking to your pediatrician about switching from breast milk to formula or giving the baby both. It could be that the baby is used to the breast milk and it may take her awhile to get used to the formula. Good Luck

Try another formula. My sister-in-law went through 3 different ones before she found one that was right. You should really talk to the doctor maybe your daughter has an allergy to something in the formula.

Good Luck.

Definately contact your doctor. It can be a number of things. Is the spit up, just a little, or is it projectile vomiting? Alot of times, the baby can have reflux and needed a more gentler formula, or can just need a soy type of formula. There are so many types of formula now. Good Luck.

she might be allergic to the formula most formulas have to much iron in it for a baby stomach i had them same problem with my daughter try the read made similac is has less iron in it if that doesn't work you will have to breast feed!

All formula's are essentially the same thing. It may not be the formula but she may be getting air bubbles from the bottle. Try burping her after an oz or so. My oldest would ingest a lot of air and be a spitter. You can also express breast milk and put in bottle. Of course let you pediatrician know because some babies are allergic to one formula or another. I used Parent's Choice with both of mine.

try the soy formula. breastfeed babies usually work with the soy before the regular formula. the brand usually doesn't matter as much enfamil is a little thicker then similac. but either way i would try the soy.

my daughter gets very constipated on similac - I use Carnation Good Start and she seems happy. Also your daughter could have alleriges if she's spitting up too much. My son was allergic to fomula and soy so I had to only breastfeed. You really should talk to your doctor!
