30 yr old man living w/ roommate-I like to play card games and even though it sounds like what my grandparents used to do, it seems that card parties are cheap, entertaining, and lots of social fun. I don't know how to recruit players though since I am an unsociable person with no skills at addressing strangers. I hope you get some good answers here because I need to know how to put this idea together..... sad part is I live in a city of 3 million people, surely I could manage 4-8 people to play spades w/o gambling or drinking every once a week or once a month.... Everyone bring a snack or a soda or somthing..... blah. gl with these answers.

Find something to fight for, or about. I don't mean literally fight(although if you wanted to join the military, that would be a great option) but rather something you can claim a stance in, such as politics...and get active! Not only will you become to captivated by the good fight you're fighting to even think about loneliness, but you're might run into a special someone who shares the same views as you!

Join a gym. Take turns using machines with ladies who seem nice. Take a cooking class (LOTS of women in there). Take a nighttime enrichment course, like writing or a foreign language. Go to Bath and Body works and ask some women to help you find something for your Mom.

Step outside of your box. Take a risk. Try something new. Try something daring. Overcome a fear. Make a list of "Life Goals", and then get to it.

BEEN THERE GUY. IN MY DAY I WENT TO CLUBS TO SATISFY MYSELF. THIS DAY AND AGE IT'S DIFFRENT. YOU HAVE TO BE SO CAREFUL. BELIVE IT OR NOT TRY THE GROCERY STORE, OR WAL-MART LATE AT NITE. WHEN YOU SEE THAT SPECIAL SOMEONE ASK HER ABOUT SOMETHING. JUST WHATEVER YOUR AROUND. FRUITS, CLOTHES ETC. STRIKE UP A CONVERSATION. BUT DON'T BE TO FOREWARD. BE KIND, WHITTY, SMILE ALOT. BUT BE YOURSELF. REMEMBER FIRST IMPRESSIONS ARE USUALLY WHAT MAKES THE RELATIONSHIPS WORK..... HAVE FUN...
