I have been watching "A Haunting" and I can't understand why these activities happen on people

"Paranormal" activities and "hauntings" usually involve demons which act as Satan's "angels" and have been given the mission of attacking people.

Because there is a realm called the spiritual realm and what happens on the physical affects the spiritual and vice-versa. Paranormal is a VERY broad subject. Maybe you would like to shorten the scope of your question?
