hi i was wondering if you guys could help me out i got a web cam i hooked it up then i try to turn it on and it says the cam is not hooked up i dont understand why its doing this can anyone help me

Install the disc FIRST then follow its instructions carefully.
Mine loads the program, then tells me to plug in the camera, then, and this is the catch, "click next if you wish to install the camera later".
I did it twice before I realized I SHOULD NOT click next if I wanted to install it now.
Take your time and read each step.

Did you:

Put batteries inside the web cam? the batteries are almost
always triple a.

Install the software as administrator for the web cam? there is usaully a cd with it once the software is installed it install a
driver for your camera

Is the usb wire firmly plugged in the back of the computer and
the camera?

Load the CD that came with the Web Cam and follow the instructions, most are very simple.

You might try reading the installation instructions! You havent loaded the cam driver and software yet! Why is it everyone tries the directions as a last resort?

did u install the camera program before u try to turn it on?

Reboot your computer with the camera plugged in.
