dude...dont worry ...in 95 % of no sound cases the fault is only with the driver..it might work if u restart ur pc...make sure u swith off every thing and let it be dead for abou 5 minutes so that the static current get enough time to pass...then restart it should work..if dosent works....start>run >devmgmt.msc>this hould show the device manager..check for any error sign in the list..if yes check is it with the audion device...if yes right click proprties..copy the name of the hardware and find the driver thrugh google ...i hope it works...
best of luck

First of all must check all the details given in the help menu.

If it doesn't work make sure u have the mother board CD with u. Then just go 2 the control panel & remove / uninstall sound / audio driver by simply make a click on to it.
After that jst run ur mother board CD and u will get lot of audio softwares in it. Try them, one or more than one, must work with it and u will need not to look for the codes of ur sound card etc any more.
If ur having a P4 and below capacity processor& using Windows XP Sp-2 or earlier versions u cud also look into real.com for realtek sound softwares. most of them r compatible with windows OS.

It does sound like your sound card is gone. It's possible you have a loose connection also in your speaker system or inyour computer. Check that. Than open your computer(mine is either or both sides . YOu should have no problem ideniflying your sound card.. If so just take the computer number on the side of your computer with name brand of the computer to any store like best buy, radio shack, walmarts ect. Most stores carry several brans you can choose form for that particular computer name and model.
