I know of some girls who are a bit like tomboys and just like that others think just coz they walk/dress like boys etc they conclude that these girls are gay/lesbo etc, which in most cases is not true. In summer i was wearing a normal t-shirt and jeans and i was shocked when i heard these boys shouting "are u a lesbo? U must be gay"....it's so annoying. What do u think?

Because the basis of our society is entrenched in puritanical christianity. Remember it's like all things it's a learned behavior from the parents. Just keep being yourself and learn to love who you are and tell yourself everyday in the mirror what a special creature you are and worthy of love. Those guys yelling those comments to you will probably never amount to more than ditch diggers. You may be President of the United States one day. You go girl!

I saw some guys whistling at some girls and when the girls didn't answer back and respond the guys shouted out 'lesbos'. Don't take any notice of them.

Years ago I used to cross dress, I was in a relationship at the time and would only go out in women's clothes while with my girlfriend. People would infer I was gay in the streets even though I was walking alone holding my girlfriend's hand.

I think people are quick to judge.

It's just ignorance, that's all.

Next time a guy asks if you are lesbo or gay .. just smile sweetly and say, "I've never been mistaken for a guy, have YOU?????"

Its called heuristics and we do it because it requires less thinking and generally humans are lazy. Why bother getting to know someone when you can make a few assumptions about them just by taking a quick look?

People are becoming increasingly narrowminded in this day and age. They are quick to snap decisions and judgements instead of taking the time to get to know someone.

Everyone needs to feel superior to someone else, and in these people's tiny minds, they think that being gay is bad, so they try to boost their own pathetic egos by insulting others.

Stereotypes are an integral part of our culture. Everyone likes to keep things simple in their minds so it's rare they think any other way than society tells them.
