How do i do it. I have a router and everything. Can someone give me steps on how to set it up.

there are several ways....over email, or >>>ftp>>>but you got to be on the Ethernet with both computers...

If both computers have access to the internet, I always recommend Hamachi. Hamachi is a zero config virtual private net working software, it is very easy to set up, and is free.
Once set up, you will be able to log onto your network from anywhere that has internet access.
